The marriage laws of Muslim countries like Kuwait are based on Sharia law, due to which is quite restrictive for non-muslims. Those foreigners tend to plan their weddings in bit relaxing places. Since the matrimonial process is a complicated one, many expats can’t understand it without any assistance. Let’s find out where they should plan their weddings with cost-effective packages.

How to arrange expat weddings in Kuwait?

To solemnize your marriage, you may directly approach the Ahmadi or Riggae Sharia/civil court with your long list of particular documents. All nationalities are welcome to apply for civil marriage in these courts. All citizens, Muslim or non-Muslim, are subject to the same legal requirements.

  • A Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) will be required from each expat who plans to get married in Kuwait, to confirm they have never been married or that their last marriage was legally ended. Obtaining these certificates requires a visit to the embassy.
  • A minimum of 21 days should pass before the marriage notice is submitted.
  • Weddings for expats are only held on Sundays and Wednesdays.
  • Initially, the application form is filled out in Arabic, and then it is translated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before being sent to your embassy.

In contrast to Kuwait, Georgia is a fairly easy-going place where expats from any race, ethnicity or religion can conduct a marriage with a simple process. The beauty of this place is the valid marriage certificate received on the ceremony day. You don’t have to run yourself to fulfill the legal requirements because all documents need to be submitted before marriage.

Kuwait is not best-fit for those expats who prefer fast wedding and marriage certificate. For this, they usually travel to Georgia and organize their marriage like the best of it.
